To provide employees with a high-quality learning environment, DAZN is evolving its learning ecosystem to give learners easy access to core and specialist content alongside realising efficiencies in third-party learning content supplier management.

An integrated learning environment generated significant cost savings

One of the challenges DAZN faced was the time and capacity to create e-learning. While it was quite easy to create or find external content providers for core learning, including personal development and leadership training, it was much more difficult to create or buy content for the specific learning needs of the different teams: technology, product, marketing, HR, and other teams all needed different content. Finding or creating the content for these specific needs and managing the supplier relationships was time-consuming and expensive.

Curated lists of learning delivered via an LMS

OpenSesame allows DAZN’s internal experts to curate learning content from different publishers and create curated learning lists for their specific topics. The internal experts can access the OpenSesame catalogue before they start creating content. This saves a lot of time. Partnering with OpenSesame, DAZN has massively reduced the number of supplier relationships and costs associated with supplier management. The investment required to provide learning across the business is approximately 30% of previous multiple supplier costs.

“We curate the learning lists using OpenSesame, export the SCORM packages, create the courses on our LMS and publish them via our Learning Zone. This means the look and feel of anything we create stays on brand.

“We also align our categories in our library to those of OpenSesame to provide our learners with a one-stop shop for all learning content. Within the courses and plans, we have a mix of internal and external content and a mix of different publishers”, explains Wood.

Actionable insights and real-time reporting to optimise the learning experience

DAZN optimises the learning experience over time by offering the highest quality of engaging content.

“As we’re using our own LMS, we can report on all activities, such as completions, quizzes, and assignments, but we also want to know what’s happening within the specific content packages we’re using.

“OpenSesame is full of insights; we can get granular with the OpenSesame data. We get, for example, the ratings of all different courses and how specific content pieces are being used. We use this data to ensure we only provide content our learners need and enjoy. The data also enables us to swap content packages where learners tell us they aren’t enjoying certain content as much as alternatives. With nearly 5,000 courses completed, the average rating for OpenSesame content stands at 4.13/5’”, says Wood.
